Recommend a decent battery charger

Hey all,

So I'm looking for a battery charger that can tend a motorcycle battery over the winter or charge my car battery. I don't know if the MotorMaster ones at CT are any good. Any recommendation for a smart charger? I know CT doesn't carry the CTEK anymore, I missed out on those.

Also. If anyone in the Hwy 7/Dufferin area is willing to lend out their charger I can leave a deposit. I would prefer to wait for a sale since I won't be needing it again until winter.

Best would be to get a motorcycle battery smart charger. My bike's battery is always charging if it's parked longer than a week.

Hey all,

Although you can get a charger that will do both of those things, it will take forever to charge a dead car battery (likely a day or two). That may or may not be a problem depending on what you need. I went with separate chargers for small and large batteries as normally I don't have a few days to wait.

I'm near you (Dufferin/Clark), but you can pick up a charger at Crappy Tire on sale for $35.00.
I have a Yuasa charger, but the cheaper ones appear to be the identical unit to mine.

I bought the big one (G26000?) for a project (trying to drive 800km without an alternator in the shortest time possible, I think it took me 13 hours which wasn't bad all things considered). It works.
Only one button on it (you use short presses to cycle through most settings, long presses to get to others). I ran some batteries through its desulphate and equalization programs but didn't conduct before and after testing so I have no idea if there was any positive benefit.

Hey so I can get a Noco Genius 3500 for 33$ online or a Ctek 3300 for 53$. If they were the same price I would totally opt for the Ctek, but are they an extra 20$ better?

Thoughts?
