Rear brake squeaks

Bike is an 84 honda magna v45. I just noticed it the last week or so, rear brake squeeks when i apply it. It's never done it before in the past. Any easy fix?

1. Make sure you have enough brake pad left... some brake pads will start to squeak when they are getting low.

2. If you there's enough brake pad left, you can grab some anti-squeal... it's basically a silicon lubricant that you can use for brake sliders... put some on the back of the brake pad where it meets the caliper piston(s).

is this a drum or disc rear break?

I usually find that the squealing is due to either the pads or discs being the issue....

One more thing I though of... get some brake cleaner and spray it on the rotor and pad... sometimes it's just a matter of dirt.

long term solution would be to take it all apart and champer the edges of the disc and pads....the break cleaner tends to swell up the pads...

It's a drum i forgot to mention. But since posting i noticed it's not just the rear its' also the front squeeking. I had my front tire replaced a couple of weeks ago and i'm thinking it's not balanced right and is slightly rubbing the brake pads maybe, because ever since the change i feel a slight change in the bikes feel, like something is a little shaky and bumpier but it's hard to tell exactly.

Out of balance tire / wheel won't be felt when braking - at least very, very unlikely on a bike.

If the brakes feel like they are pulsating when you brake ever since the tire change then either one of the rotors is bent from the tire change or there are contaminants on the friction surface (i.e. a greasy, oily hand touched the rotor surface during the change.

You don't seem to be able to describe the problem accurately (rear, squeak, front squeak, shaking ....) so diagnosis on an Internet forum isn't going to get you too far. I would suggest that you take it to the place that changed the tires and see what they say. They might be able to provide some insight as they were the last one's to work on the bike.
