Ready Honda/Suzuki/Yamaha

hey everyone,

I'm not a new member, but I'm still a motorcycle virgin (so to speak... I have GM2, but never rode any motorcycle for 2~3 years since my MSF).

I'm just 'window shopping' for a new bike as an opportunity rose that would allow me a bike. So I'm researching ahead (sort of).

I want to know if there's anyone who can tell me (or link me the tread if there is one existing) on their experience and everything at Ready Motorsports (they seem to sell Honda/Suzuki/Yamaha bikes) by Mississauga.

I'm particularly interested in Suzuki GW250. I like that style and everything. My father, after succombing to my pressure and convincing, got his M1 as well - he digs the Yamaha V-Star 250's style.

We're thinking of visiting them soon but I just want to know if the ppl there are good or if I should consider somewhere else. I live in Markham by Yonge+Steele. I prefer to stay within Toronto and Mississauga....

Thanks y'all

I was at Demo day at ready a few weeks ago and i took this pic while waiting

I was also interested in the gw250 but paying $5500 for a 250cc bike seemed a bit absurd to me

All i can recommend is to shop around at other places before you put a deposit down.... I know Brampton powersports also sells suzuki

Demo days are in full swing so try to ride a few before you make the decision.... Ergonomics play a huge factor

If it's your first bike you should also consider buying used.... Hone your skills and move on to a bigger bike...... I rode the gw250 and though it's not slow... Reaching high speeds is a struggle... Something to keep in mind for your M test.... The are many cbr250s and Kawasaki 300's on kijiji for ~$3000

Before you look for a bike, look for insurance quotes. It may seem like nothing for its size but considering its new and MSRP with your lack of experience you could be paying the same price a year in insurance.

Thanks guys,

I was thinking of price too but I'll be planning on using it lots and sell it off to my father later should I wish to upgrade.

but I see about getting a used bike that I don't have to worry a lot of: breaking in, dropping, scratches, etc....
It's just that I'd rather not deal with sketchy ppl and stuff... some older ones won't have warranty and I lack a lot of fundamental mechanical knowledge on motorcycles.

I'm researching the insurance actually. For both myself and my father.

Forget the 250s. Burgman 650, FTW! :lmao:

Look at some used bike prices as well.

I got my bike from ReadyHonda is mississauga, it was enjoyable dealing with them and getting my bike.

I got my new honda cbr250RA there this past month. Cost me $5,300 with taxes, freight etc. With honda getting rid of stock, then $1000 discount was nice.
Insurance on my bike, with a M1 and my spouse being a UofT Grad. Cost me $1,020 for the riding season.

I bought it new because people were charging almost as much if not more for a used one, so I might as well get a new one and drop it myself etc:)

Buy new if you can and just go and kick it as soon as you get it home! Bosh! Taken care of now go ride.

If you find a private sale of something you like, I would be more than happy to show up and give it a look over for you.

I have been into Ready Honda Miss. a few times in the past month, the bike im looking at is not on the floor & they had no catalogs! Not a big deal im sure both will happen. I have been looking at Kijiji as well most want new prices for used bikes but not all & you have to fork out cash in full you will be on your own after the purchase . With the dealer finance could be a option & they can help with any issues its how I am leaning. Good luck.

i gave a call to statefarm and TD (i didn't know TD bought primmum and melloche monnex) but they gave me a quote for me in scenario that I get Suzuki GW250:
SF $240/month with 500$ deduc. -or- $211/month with $1000 deduc.
TD $125.75/month ($1509/yr) online quote...

FYI, i'm 23 years old, got M2 3 yrs ago, already have G.

I'll be visiting the dealers tomorrow after "work" so we'll see how it goes!

I like TD for insurance.
For a 39 year old, m1 license(they didn't seem to care if i had a G or not) and a honda cbr250, with 2 mill life or whatever.
It cost me $1,020 for the entire season from May+
