Better hope there's a clause in there about maintaining a professional image etc or he might be taking them to court.
 
Brings back memories of Josh Herrin and Dayne Westby at the Daytona 200 in 2011. Best of friends, Josh moved over and hit Dayne's brake lever by accident. The crash was horrific, but both riders walked away. Dayne would die in a freak street accident a few years later.

Why would any team sign a rider with a reputation of a hooligan?
 
There's a reason that some racers clevis pin the kill switch. I'm not comparing hitting a kill switch to applying the brakes but this sort of thing has happened for years.
