Raingear FTW

I usually totally screw up when to put on my raingear as it gets a bit hot with it on and I try to leave it off until the last minute. This usually means I get stuck in a place where I can't stop easily when it's raining and I get a bit wet. So today with the forecast I stuck on the gear at Smiths Falls on the way to Ottawa from Kingston and 10 mins later the heavens opened...I rode through three thunderstorms heavy enough for cars to be driving with hazards on and some had pulled over on the shoulder to wait it out and I noticed something odd....it wasn't bothering me at all. I could see fine when I wipe the visor every now and then, no misting problems (Shark RSR2) and I was dry as a bone...tires were sticking great even in the deluge (Michelin 2CTs). In short I had an absolutely awesome ride.

Just goes to show....any ride on a bike is good. Get some raingear and get out and ride.

I got some Teknic raingear..it works fine..I was bone dry BUT I might look for some with a rainhood to go under the helmet. Only the back of my nexk got a little damp. For gloves I have some Cortech ones that have pull out raincovers, my hands were bone dry too..my boots are goretex.

+1 Done it many times....ride along and cars are pulled over or driving slow with hazards. Except my Teknic suit sucks. It's a leaking 1pc. I preferred the 2pc I had for 20 years, too bad it wore out.

Yeah, I honestly prefer a heavy rain to a light one, then the drops will actually fall/blow off the visor. Small stuff just sits there affecting visibility.
