Racer5 June 13-16 - anyone going from GTA on the 12th?

I'm heading out to GB on the 12th. Thinking about riding there (depending on weather) since I'll be staying 10 min away from the track the whole time. Anyone from GTA going and wants to ride to GB together?

Is this your first time doing a track day/weekend?

I recommend taking a car. You'll be physically and mentally tired after your day, even so since the weather is warming up faster, you'll need to make sure you stay hydrated.

If you can't having a riding buddy would work out since you can watch out for each other. But if a car is available, take it. It will allow you to bring much needed supplies.

+1 - I have taken the trip to grand bend on the bike just to go to the beach and on teh way back I wish I had taken the car, this was just after a day at the beach, Imagine a day riding on track.

you need to drive a car so you have somewhere to put the timmies for the early start Thursday morning :) Im heading there Thursday morning and im gonna need a timmies for my drive

I get what you guys are saying and I really appreciate it. I've never been to a track day. As a matter of fact, I'm so green that I'm still extatic just to ride, even if it's on the straight highway to GB. But, I've also read many threads/articles about track days, talked to friends who do track days.. I would never consider riding on the days of my track class, except to motel 2 streets down. I've inquired and Racer5 has a trailer and a tent where one can apparently leave a backpack with water/food supplies. They provide the bike, so I need no extra gas, etc. I'm even gonna deface my Streety with a topbox for storage space.

I haven't decided if I'll ride yet, but Kawyman, I'll treat with Timmy's any nice classmate who brings me a medium with 2 cream no sugar ;-) .

Please don't. You never know what can happen at a track day.
Crashed last year and broke my collar bone. If I had ridden to the track, even though I was using one of their bikes, there would have been no way for me to get home. No way I could have ridden all the way from GB back to KW. The simplest of movements would at times cause the broken bone to grind causing a serious spasm of pain. Braking and pulling the clutch lever would guaranteed have cause at minimum a partial loss of control.

Take a car. Get a lift. But please, don't ride.

Does anyone know if there are any spots available for that date still?

P.S. Branka did awesome.

(I am expert #64 on the blue Yamaha FZR400 - the one that needed an emergency engine swap on Thursday night)

Thanks, Brian - it was great meeting all of you guys :).

For the record to anyone else considering it - I did not end up riding my bike to GB. I'm really happy about that decision!
