Hi I am new to the site. I am looking at taking racer5 intro package, 4 days .and would like some feed back from people how have taken it. Thank you..

Try to talk to Jake Austin if you can.
He's a friendly and well mannered 15 or 16 yr old kid who came out this past yr in round 1 to do intro school, and the Racer5 Cup. He then came each round to do the Cup, and won most or all of his races, as well as joining the Racer5 Endurance team. After 1 season, the kid has evolved into one hell of a good little racer. This coming season I am betting he is gonna turn some heads and surprise some veterans.

Personally, I haven't taken these courses. I can tell you that three people I know that have, have all grew more as a rider in four days than I did in a season. Racer5 group is great! I've done track days with them many times and always have a great time. I can tell you that no other track day organizer will go pit to pit making sure that everyone is having a good time or trying to find a solution if someone is not having a good time. Thumbs up Racer5!

I took Phase 5 in September.... Fawaz puts together an awesome school. I have seen tons of people say nothing but good things when they show up for the thurs-sun track/race event.

Solid investment for a good time and incredible learning experience.

Do it

I actually teach the m1 exit and still did this. I had done lots of track days but this improved and corrected my forum by leaps and bounds. It’s well worth it and you get a soar race licence out of it. I just renewed mine and plan on doing some endurance races with racer 5. it’s great way just to get better.

Note this is a race track course. Not everything can be put to use on street. ie you should never ride as hard on street as you do on a track. if you just want aggressive street riding I also recommend the total control class. This is more street styled. But if you want to try track or just improve at track, or just be a better rider then racer 5 is amazing.

O and you are playing on 125 cbr's here, not a 600 like some schools. It lets you and makes you get into better forum. IE you an't got any acceleration speed so you need to carry as much speed through corners as you can and a 125 is good at that. Give you an idea, when I did my class was at a soar weekend so we were on track when others were practicing. By day 3 we found that we were being passed in straight, but at end of straight we on 125's where passing those people who just passed us. And then keeping them behind us because of all the turns.

The small bike is a great learning tool. And if you crash it, it’s not expensive. I binned mine on 4th day, and even managed to have it slide over a turtle backwards doing some dam good damage. Think it cost me little over 300$. Max payout you would make is 500$ (the deductible) and apparently no one has ever hit that mark. IE bike is cheap to fix. Now crash a 600 and see the repair bill as a friend of mine did at Fast (great school form my understanding but binning it can cost you)

Edited to correct spelling. Tablet does not help spell check I find.

Racer5 has been involved with SOAR since 2010 and has only gotten better amd better. I believe in the program and have seen it work time and again both as the owner of SOAR with a virtual army of new racers coming out of the program and as the occasional instructor for Fawaz. I have instructed with various track schools over the years and Fawaz's approach is unique and effective. He remains hands on with his instructors and is always watching as we work with his students, if he see's us deviating from the program he is right there to reel us in. Doesnt hurt that he is one of the most pleasant person that I know and truly cares about each students experience at Racer5.

Truly cares is an understatement..... he checked up on my 2-3 times throughout the day when I did my Stage 5 course and hung out during lunch. It may not seem like much, but managing a personal experience/satisfaction when looking over your own track day needs serious time commitment.

I did the course last May with Racer5. Everyone had a blast. It was my first time on a track, and I was coming from riding a BMW cruiser. The group ranged in age from 15-50, from track riders to noobs like me. As mentioned lots of people put down the 125's, but when you're learning they sure seem fast enough. You really learn the lines and turns. Straightaways are for resting, not going fast. LOL. It's a blast having a 600 blast past you on the straight and then reeling them in until the next straight.
We had a ton of crashes with our group. so the 125's are a huge bonus. Repairs are insanely cheap. I think most were under $100. We did have one guy hit the max, Fawaz had never seen anyone that could hit the limit before (highsided at the end of the straight, I saw him go and thought he was dead. By the end of our session he was sitting under the tent waiting for us, showing off the marks on his leathers). Racer5 also rents out gear (but I don't think helmets). The leathers sure held up!
I found personally, that after the course, I started to do track days. Went to the Beginner group, but found it was way too slow and way too scary (a lot of the riders don't really know what they're doing yet and are very unpredictable), the 4 day course puts you way ahead of other riders.
One of the big bonuses of the course is that you're doing the SOAR weekend. You'll get to see some good riders, and everyone is more than willing to help you out. It's well run and everyone seems to really have a good time.

With my luck I have no doubt I'll do at least $500 in damage... I'm just lucky to the max!!! If I come out with no damage I'll feel like a major champ.

Up until last year when Fawaz started Speedworx I was building/repairing/painting the Racer5 fleet and the cost involved in the 125 is really low. Honda subsidizes the parts cost so its very hard to hit the $500 max. The bike that did (I picked it up) was an freak. I spoke to the rider at the show and even he was impressed that it was only $500. The Racer5 fleet choice is perfect for the task.
