Race Suit Modification/Repairs

Hi, I have a suit where the arms and legs are slightly too long. The only shop I know that repairs/modifies suits is Bickle, however since it's peak season he won't have time for me until the fall.

Does anyone know any other shops that deal with suits? Cheers

Drew is awesome, highly recommended

Trackside cuts, hands-down. With my on and off track demolitions, they've put my suit back together with nothing but good things to say.

It's worth the trip. If you need any vinyl, race numbers or shark/lever guards (mandatory for soar racing next year)... maybe call ahead and make an order.

Simple reason being we do so much trackside service we can"t do alterations properly in the trailer. Alterations are exactly that and need to be done right or the money is wasted. So rather then screw a suit up trying to do it right in the wrong place,,,makes no sense for me and or the customer. There are also many more things to consider in a track suit which relate to safety. Not to mention most off the rack suits today can not be altered,,or rather be altered and not be a mortgage payment! Stretch panels complicate the hell out of them

I have seen suits altered out of Montreal ,,beautiful job,,awsome fit ,,but yes,,,done with vinyl that looks like leather,,and the customer did not know. I have also seen a top US rider crash at the top of corner 2 at Mosport and the zipper alteration on the sleeve ended up under his arm pit. So regardless of who you use,, use someone that has slid their *** down the pavement and knows why it has to be done right! Cause if you have to use the "school of hard knocks" here it really sucks!

Both John(Bickle Racing) and Drew(tracksidecuts)are good at what they do, I have and will continue both...You must have bought(or were given) this suit second hand. It was cheaper than a new one...but with proper leather work it might work out to the same price as or close to new.
Another thought is to take it to a good shoe repair shop. They deal with leather/zippers/snaps etc. Timing might work out for you as well.

You are correct, the astars suit was mint, used for a couple track days, and I got it for 1/4 the original price. Will see what can be done :)

Ivan passed away earlier this year.

Ivan passed away but apparently the business will still be operating!
I'm sure they would be a great shop to go to if the regular trackside services aren't an option.

I had never had the pleasure of meeting Ivan but was shown some of his fantastic work.
The piece I saw was where he had recreated an entire forearm panel on a Dainese suit for a seamless repair.

Bickle and Trackside cuts do great work as well, and I have used them both countless times.
