Is it "Normal" to have to get race leathers re stitched if they are only 1yr old and never been scuffed ?I've worn them 2 dozen times. I'm trying to decide whether I will purchase same brand. This is my first set of race leathers. The suit is literally coming apart at every seam. ( pun intended). Lol.

What manufacturer? I had an issue with one of Alpinestars Carver suits at the begging of the season. However it was brand new and literally coming apart at the seams the first time I wore it.

According to those who fix them regularly, Spyke is about the best on the market right now

I'd also suggest Spyke if you can. However I've crash tested Teknic and Nexo and they both held up well for me.

I can't say I'd recommend Velocity, but contact them and see if they will help. Good luck.

Stay away from Rev'It! suits as well. My bf's Rev'It suit literally shredded open on a low speed low-side. Then they blew open on the opposite side on another low speed low-side. He's had the suit (extensively) repaired at the track, but it's not trustworthy. He's switched to A* as his primary suit now.

Spidi. Crashed 4 times in my Wind-Pro/T-1and needed some minor sleeve repair (not even patch, just re-sewing). Never ripped or tore the leather itself, just the seams needed some reinforcing. They never opened but I could see the stitching loosen a little. Trackside Cuts repaired the suit for me (after the 3rd crash).

It's a little pricier than the usual brands, but I would gladly buy another when it's time for another suit.

Give me a call and bring them in. I will have them taken care of. I do have to say this looks like from our older factory who we do not deal with any more because of these issues. I'd rather charge more and offer a product that will not do this versus offer $600 for a suit that gives me a bad reputation. The current factory we deal with does more high end products and doesn't compromise on quality. But I will will take of this issue as I always do.
