Race Gas

GUys what race gas are you guys using? and where do you get it? I know the bike has to be tuned for it. Just need to know where to get it and what brand is best.

Does your motor actually need it or is it just to gain a few hp? I run 50/50 shell 91 with U4.4 only because I have to, now that I'm rebuilding my motor I'm going to try and get on straight pump if possible. At $6/L I would rather do an extra practice/track day then spend it on fuel.

The engine needs to be built and mapped properly to get the most out of race fuel. You can get it at Pro6 Cycle or Z1 Cycletech.

You can also contact the Ontario distributor for VP fuels directly, he's in Richmond Hill. http://www.streetperformance.com/parts/vp-racing-fuels-vp-ontario-canada.html

Don't be disillusioned by thinking you'll be faster on track just because of race fuel, because you won't. Like Dricked mentioned, do some extra laps and find speed on the track not in the garage.

You can find speed in your garage: if you're doing suspension work. :)

I use U4.4 in my one bike... if I didn't have a 55gal drum of it, I'd probably look into converting it back to pump fuel, for the few extra horsepower/torque it's probably giving me. Plugs don't last long with the high octane fuels either, they foul easily. Etc.

Race fuel in a track day bike makes no sense to me. You may as well put your money in a shoe box and light it on fire.

I run premium pump fuel and that's it. Most tracks I can barely utilize all the horsepower my bike makes as it is. Adding more won't really help much. It does smell great tho.

Suspension work and track time are wise investments.

The only reason I'm using U4 is because the bike is set up and tuned for it. It's running a really high compression ratio - maybe 14.x:1 as I put some 93 in it to clean out the race fuel last fall and it sounded like it was predetonating even at idle. I shut it down bloody quick.

This fall/winter I'm thinking about getting the bike retuned for pump fuel, as I agree with you.

All in all great day. I had a rookie mistake ran of the track slow but hit the brakes on the grass after seeing a hole full of water. At the end of the day cracked fairing

Leave the guy alone. If he wants to get to the grass quicker than usual that's his call.

NOS from the gas station fridge right into the tank.

I get my U4.4 from a place on Woodbine and Green Ln in Newmarket, I think it was called machine racing or something, mainly do dirt bikes and sea doos etc. Usually have it in stock but went in last week and didnt have any till this week. As above If I could id just run pump gas.

Where in my post dose it say it's for me. it's a simple question that seems to be the problem with this site these days. Can't anyone just give a simple answer

You can buy it at Pro6. The can tune it properly....trully the best shop in the city! MR9 or 12 or U4
It was answered (rob also answered) we're just curious creatures. No need to get yer panties in a bunch.

Right, thaaaats whats wrong with this site. Heaven forbid people mention that if it was for you it would be a complete waste of money, just in case you were thinking about doing it.

That's fine saying its a waste of time. Waste of time and space is saying that I'm putting race gas in to go into the grass.

oh you are a delicate flower

regular pump gas with amsoil octane boost.
premium sits at the gas station too long and race fuel is too expensive

LoL how do you fit so much misinformation into such a small space?
