R.e.m.

And there was much rejoicing at the Butthole Surfers' Austin compound.

I was a big fan back in the day, but their output since Bill Berry left has been less than memorable. At least they finally realized their time was up.

its about time

now if only def leppard, the rolling stones, and Aerosmith would follow suit, it would be great.

and Tupac has put out more new music in the last 10 years, that all 3 of them combined.

I can't believe they've been around for 31 years...wow..

Wow. They have to break up to get back in the news. Is it really a breakup if the band hasn't done any meaningful work in years?

What's next? News that Huey Lewis and the News have broken up?

A few years ago I saw them in concert at the Molson Ampitheatre. Best concert I ever saw ....hands down. Tons of talent.

Totally agree. Was always a fan of their early albums. Won a pair of tickets from the Edge a couple years ago to see them play The Hummingbird Center. They put on a great show and played a lot of classics from their early years. Mike Mills even did his solo of Don't Go Back To Rockville. Glad I was able to experience them live.
