So if I got my (M1) in March and (M2) in May, which month would insurance start with?

March. It's the month you would have been getting some cold experience

Although true about bike insurance, the OP should note that State Farm requires the rider to hold a valid G for 6 years before they will insure them on a bike. Just throwing that out there in the event the OP is a younger person with only a G1 or G2. Then State Farm won't touch them.

I think it might just be 5 years with some form of G (G1, G2, G) and presently having a G.

Mhmm what about other than state farm (ie TD) I know they ask for when you get your m1/m2

Re: Quick question regarding when insurance start counting your "experience"

i didn't go with TD because they required an alarm system be installed,
and they will not allow you to install it. they request is be installed by a specialist with documentation proving as such.

i have also been told by other riders with TD who weren't requested to install an alarm. i don't get it.

however, with that in mind, and if you're willing to spend the money on alarm and install, the rate was lower than other places.

still i went with statefarm, as i didn't wan to install alarm. got a better rate bundle with home and auto.
