Where do you clean/lube your chain, change your oil and do other maintenance on your bike? I used to have a garage before I moved to Toronto, now I have a parking stall for my bike barely wide enough to stand in.

For chain maintenance, I just carry my stuff in my backpack or top case and find an empty parking lot somewhere.

And no I don't carry a full stand on my back, I use my http://www.packjack.ca/

I do all my maintenance in my parking spot. That ****'s expensive, so I'm going to use it.

Be clean, be polite.

yeah, I just move my car a bit and then do it in my parking spot- as long as you keep it clean (I put a big piece of a cardboard under everything that I do, including when I do quick maintenance on my car brakes in the parking garage) the security usually won't bother you. I've even had some great conversations with my building's security about bikes and cars and mechanics

I head over to recycle room, grab a few carboards to lay down under and round the bike, grab my tools and a roller chair -> head to my parking spot.
Needless to say, be nice and polite - my neighbors are great.

hey thanks!

I would do it in my parking spot if it wasn't so cramped, visitor parking isn't a bad idea though

I actually got caught cleaning my chain at my parking spot...some dude reported me in...the building manager came in with security and asked me to " get it over with"

So yeah..either do it late at night when security and building manager are both sleeping or as in my case, get a small storage site

F%^# thats expensive!

Don't think it is that expensive if you are doing road trips a lot. And it is cheaper then some other ones I have seen in a similar configuration

:p

I'm considering getting a scott oiler so I can stop worrying about the chain so much. Doesn't matter rwhat time of day it is security patrols the garage pretty regularly. I've never gotten **** for working on my bike but I haven't tried a proper fluid change there yet.
