Question about pinlock shields

My new helmet came with a pinlock insert. The insert came with three little red clips in the package and I have no idea what to do with them. Instructions are useless, doesn't show or mention them at all. Tried searching for an answer, haven't been able to find anything online. It's an HJC RPHA 70 ST if that matters.

Can someone please let me know what they are for?
 
The red clips are replacement clips for the cheek pads. I had the same confusion - I don't know why they put them in the same plastic packaging as the pinlock.
 
I tried the pinlock insert with my new shoei helmet and found the vision to be just a little off.
I couldn't understand why I unable to keep up with my buddies until I realized it could be the vision issue.
Once I removed the pinlock they struggled to keep up with me.
I doesn't take much to make a difference (for me anyway).
I was shocked how much something so innocent can affect ones confidence.

Interesting observation and now that I think about it, I think I also noticed the same thing when I first put it on but you quickly acclimate to it I'll remove them now though as the temps are warm enough that fogging isn't an issue.

same here

my Nolan came with the pinlock
it also has a sunshade and I ride with scrip glasses
too much stuff to look through

visor plus shade plus specs are fine
that pinlock was terrible, took it out
