Q for the HVAC guys.

I have a small house (~1200 sqft) that has a 25 year old furnace.

I am looking into replacing the furnace before it breaks on the coldest day of the year.

Roughly how would I be looking at to have a furnace for a house this size installed?

Any recommended companies around Mississauga?

The sky's the limit :D Main thing to look out for is the installer. It doesn't matter which make/model you get, if the installer doesn't do the job right you'll experience problems with it and if the install is proper, it'll work just fine for you unless you get the rare lemon. Generally, they're simple pieces of equipment so everyone's got'em right.. Some issues you should be aware of..

1) Since you will be getting a newer furnace, small input resi units are direct vent --> They will need to drill a couple of holes in your wall

2) Those are also condensing furnaces, so they will be dumping acidic water (that's what makes'em so efficient) - you either need to have a floor drain nearby or install a pump that will dump it directly into the drain

3) You may wanna consider getting A/C in there while you're at it.. It's easiest during the install

4) They may find some code violations which they'd need to rectify (undersized piping for the load, for example), so don't be surprised if they do
