ps4 or xbox one games you liked or not

Please post game titles you played and why you liked or hated them.

Battlefield 4 for ps4. Hated it because I don't play many shooter games and this game was made very sloppy. I find a lot of time the act or sequence is stuck in some loop for some reason and you have restart to get it to work. Game mechanics and aiming are weak. Story mode and weapons are okay, but nothing like call of duty.

Anyone recommend Assassins' creed IV black flag?

Hahaha you'll get alot of heat from the BF4 fanboys

I kind of gave up on console gaming when games became so linear and full of cut scenes that it feels like watching movies, not playing. In the early years of computer era, games were more about skill of the programmer and innovating concepts. Nowadays everyone focuses on graphics and animation.

The only ones I still like are open world concept like Oblivion or Fallout. Every couple of months I dust off the PS3 and play for few hours. If they both come out on PS4 I may be tempted to buy it down the line

I am the same, love the open world games. I enjoy shooters to a point, but they get old fast as you just follow the story and that is it. Lots of great open world games now thankfully. The entire Assassins Creed franchise is great, GTA 4 and 5 both great, Red Dead is one of my favourite games, just so well done, The batman arkham series, etc etc etc. So many great open world games that offer countless hours of game play, or just a way to cause carnage for 20 minutes if you want, no story needed.

I actually love single player story line driven games that are almost like an interactive movie. ALA Uncharted franchise, Last of US etc.

Hey i loved Assassins Creed when it came out, but dude, you can only climb so many towers before realizing its a really repetitive game.

Same thing with BF4 and COD. I play the single player and thats it...

COD Is meant for online. If you play solo it gets boring and quick!

Online can get competitive if your into that, Im a regular CODer lol and now the new COD has a alien survival game, pretty neat and fun to kill time, team based you just fight to survive waves of aliens Lol.

Battlefield I have those too, also meant for online, more team based than COD.

GTA series, Love all them. cant really go wrong with GTA.

Metal gear solid franchise is my fave.

Really looking forward to the new one coming out for ps4 and also Gran Turismo 6.

I've never understood the appeal of COD. The last COD game I had was Modern Warfare 2. I don't see the point in getting an annual COD game. Most COD players don't buy the game for the campaign mode but for multiplayer. With that said, why would you buy it annually? It's essentially the same formula every year! FPS games shouldn't be annual games...hell it shouldn't be every 5 years imo. I grew up playing Counterstrike(and extremely competitive mind you lol) and that formula stuck for 10 years and over! COD is a money grab franchise and the gamers don't seem to mind.

See, constantly replaying the exact same map, killing the exact same way etc, gets boring for me and quick!

I like for my gaming to have a definitive start and finish with a journey in the middle...

Yup I totally agree with you on that.

I grew up on CS too LOL started with 1.5 than 1.6 than CS source AHAHA Oh man good times. Team Fortress was friggin awesome too :D

Lol It's all about who has the highest K:D Ratio LOL

Thats all I play the online for, is to see of all my friends on psn and who plays cod, who can pull off the best kill/death ratio and who has the highest accuracy, thats the competitive part about it for me I guess. But yes its tru. it is the same over and over again, but thats why I would go an entire round using pistol or knife only, or go entire rounds using sniper rifle, etc. small things like that to make it more of a challenge per say..

I'm not the one to judge, when CS came out i spent days playing the same maps.

In fact i was in a Quake Team Fortress clan when i was a wee little lass. We used to have practices and training....good god what was i thinking...

I'm just saying that now that i'm older, a game has to have substance, meaning and a clean start to finish. Even open world games have a story line that has to be loosely adhered to.

Thats why i never got into the original Battlefield 1942. It was a map, have at it! Now that Battlefield has actual single player story line i can pick up and play it.

LOL, I miss those CS days.

I do play through the games story mode but it gets boring once you beat it. Ill sit there until I beat the campaign than I start online multiplayer.

But if you like games for their story, Metal Gear franchise if awesome for that. Every Metal Gear Solid game is frickin amazing :D

hey man...there's no shame to my CS days. I was in a clan and we participated in the higher leagues and had practices and matches. haha
It was competitive, extremely fun, but damn did it take up alot of time!

GTA world is always interesting and I also liked Red Dead but unless something changed drastically - Assassin's Creed has got to be one of the most boring (albeit pretty to look at) games around. I wouldn't call it open world either.

I find it very difficult to justify purchasing a new gaming system though, considering I have never even completed a single game on PS3. Will have to wait a year or so and see if anything that comes out is really much better than what's available now. Otherwise PS3 will satisfy my rare cravings.

Sorry O.P. but BF4 is amazing. Just got it on my Xbone and while the story is pretty bland its all about the 64 player conquest.

I'm still looking to buy Forza 5, and was thinking about need for speed. I don't know about PS4 but I didn't really realize how few games I have to choose from right now.

I love the ship battles they added in the previous assassins creed game, and there is supposed to be more in the latest release. Waiting till I can get a PS4 when they are in stock again before buying black flag. Adds a very cool new unique element to an open world game.

My brother got the PS4 with Call of Duty ghosts. When I saw the graphics. I said to myself, these new consoles are very close to what you get on PC..LOL!
