I have one too. The lift is fine, the chock is a bit basic - works fine for dirt bikes, not great for bigger bikes.

best $500 tool I have.

Super happy with my lift too. I feel like I got my money’s worth in the first year alone.

I don’t think I would do oil and tire changes if I had to lay on a cold concrete floor - not sure how all the old timers on here did it!

We’re just tougher. No gloves, no heated garages, acetone to cool off a burn, RTV for closing a good cut.

Can't beat them for the price when on sale. I've heard the included chock is actually OK. All it needs to do is hold the bike up while you put the rear stand on anyways. I may go back and install it to free up my Baxley. One problem I've had is the pneumatic pump won't lift with a bike on it, but will without. Any ideas? I'm assuming there must be a pressure adjustment somewhere, but can't find it in the manual or on the lift/motor. I usually just use the foot pump anyway, so it hasn't bothered me enough to look too hard.

I've had one of these for about 5 years, older model with yellow table. Great value and very nice addition to your shop if you have the space.

This is a common problem. There is a pnuematic cyclinder purge or prime process outlined on YouTube to correct this.

I have a center stand and 90% of the time the bike is on the lift both the front and rear wheels are coming off so for me a chock is really of minimal use for me.

And when we got a cut, we poured mercury on it.

Wait... that stuff was mercury? Lmao I remember many times having that stuff on gravel rash and cuts as a kid. I preferred it to the peroxide/alcohol/battery acid clear stuff that stung like hell tho.

Isn't that designed into it to make you want to avoid a second case of road rash?

RTV for closing a good cut.

I kept a couple of those mini one shot ‘n toss tubes of crazy glue in my fender bag for trail side repairs. Works great.

And Oxy. Break an ankle/femur, and you might be propped up against a tree trunk for a few hours before they can get a 4 wheeler + trailer in to haul you out.

Most of us oldies actually do become sick of wrenching on the floor and open up our pocketbooks to buy a lift.

I bought one about I yrs ago, prob best bike buy ever for the garage

Gravity is not your friend when you're on the cold cold cement to do brake / caliper service or something similar. Not too bad on the way down, getting up is another thing. My days of springing up and down are well past me.

Was a time i could monkey around equipment and never have to think of my steps.

Not so much anymore. Lost a step as i have learned to deal with getting older

I tried looking it up before but must have been using the wrong search terms. I just found one that basically says to activate the pump while releasing the hydraulic pressure. Sound about right? I went to try it, but now it's working. I went ahead and held down the release pedal and let it pump for a few seconds for good measure. Still working. Yay.

I've got the Harbor Freight lift...
It doesn't have a pneumatic option, just the hydrolic pump.
Anyone know if it would be possible to add/retrofit a pneumatic option..?

It would be impossible to do this economically.

Far cheaper to buy the PA one now for $500 and then sell your HF one for maybe $250 or more. The HF one is about $300 U.S. on sale, so it will go quickly.

The HF unit is a heavier/sturdier unit than the PA...
'Not entirely sure if I'd feel confident enough to hoist a 600 pound FJR up on the PA lift and then start wrenching.
I've worked with both and find the PA deck to be of lighter gauge steel.. IIRC it's a bit narrower than the HF model as well.

'Not a POS by any means, but... Consider the weight/size of the bike you'll be lifting before running out to buy :)

Yeah... Yeah... I know.... No tie downs. Lift is solid enough for an oil change. and the base is bracketed to the floor so it can't tip.

Renovating the garage. Don't have room right now. Wife would be upset. We need to buy a shelter for the existing stuff. Maybe I could squeeze it in there?
