Anybody else notice the price difference between Premium gas and other blends is much higher then it use to be. I've seen the differences of 30 to 50 cents compared to reg, where it use to be like 10c. I've only seen 1 place where the price seemed normal which was out in Lindsey, but I think it's because they were next to the OPP station.

Either I'm mistaken, don't remember what it was like before COVID times, or the gov is doing some sneak sht with taxes, or it's all just BS.

On average I have always noticed it to be approx. 20 cents above regular grade. I can handle using premium on the bike. I have no choice with my current bike. In the end its only a few dollars more per tank.
For my dayly driver. I will only use regular as recomended. One thing I did consider when purchasing my new car was to avoid looking at cars that require premium. Even alot of basic models with turbos now suggest premium gas.

25 more when I bought some this morning.
It might be worth using an app to search, but they are often incorrect with prices more than an hour old.

It is gouging because they can it is 10c per gallon in the us and used to be 10c a liter here which was gouging already.

Costco is normally a 10 cent spread. Ime, everywhere else has always been 20 cents plus for the spread.

As for comparision to US, when their price goes up 10 cents per gallon, ours goes up 10 cents per litre. Fuel prices are more related to psychology than the price of oil.

The last few times I went to COSTCO it wasn’t worth the drive (I go early / late enough to not have lineups).

Filled up last week at Costco at 177.4….SHELL/Petro on the way home was 177.9. Same day a few hours later…174.9 on Burnhamthorpe.

Sometimes it’s a 10c/L diff…and sometimes it’s less than 1c/L less than the normal stations.

I was talking about regular/premium spread not costco vs others. Costco regular is normally cheaper than others but close. The key for me is it is very rarely beaten so I dont need to check prices and the line at mine is short. I went in scarberia once and got stuck in a 45 minute line you cant escape from. Never again.

Yes sorry for the derail.
