hey guys, so my parents have been in the market for new bikes, my dad just picked up a 2002 vstar 1100 classic. and i think i found the one for my mom, its a 2008 suzuki boulevard m50. it needs new rubbers, front needs pads and a rotor. heres the ad, http://ontario.kijiji.ca/c-cars-veh...zuki-Boulevard-M-50-800-cc-W0QQAdIdZ425037089 i already talked down to $3100 as i dont wanna drive 2.5 hours and possibly not make the deal. what do you guys think? good deal? i checked online and im looking at about 500 for parts, how long u think this would take for labour? my dad is saying pick up tires brakes and rotors on the way from zdenos, id rather buy parts online and save money and do work ourselves but thats not happening so im wondering if its like 2 hours labour? anyway let me know what you guys think thanks

Doing it yourself is always cheaper, and online is always cheaper, but it's finding the shop that will install parts that they did not order is the problem....there are a few. I think a shop here in Milton will do it tho...

but, just wanted to ask, youre asking for 1500$ for each of your bikes, and they are 20+ years old, but you're looking at a 2008 (4years old) for 3100$. Does that seem a realistic price for your bikes?
 
to me no, especially at this point in the season, but my parents i guess it sounds good. but from riding around with my mom on the cm450 i know there are people out there who absolutely love the bike, i think its one of those bikes that some guys just want personally i dont like either of them. we planned on hanging on until the spring anyway so we will see what happens
 
o and my grandpas neighbour is a mechanic, hes also some kinda cousin or something, he has no problem helping out, and cheap labour at $25/hour
 
Fair enough, hope u sell them!

brakes and rotor you can do at home with a little elbow grease, tires are normally 45-50$ a tire changed on the bike.

If you can hang out while work s being done, you'll learn a lot!!
