Port Dover - Friday July 13th

Hi, I am hoping to go out to Port Dover for my first time next week. Everyone says it is insane, but I don't know any details about the event. Was hoping that some veterans could enlighten me.

- This July, is it only on Friday the 13th or will it be going on for saturday and sunday?
- What time would be ideal to show up before it gets crazy, 8am?
- The city website mentioned that you cannot park in the city but rather in parking lots and be shuttled back & forth. Is this true? If so do you pay for
the parking lots/shuttle?
- Is there anything that is worthy of note to do when you are there, or is it mostly just to walk around and enjoy the bike circus?
- Are there any patios open early or is that more of a waste of time?
- If just going for the day, how long do most people go to Port Dover for? A few hours, half the day, the whole day & night?

The earlier you go the busier it will be but the better spot you can get.
If your in a car then you can't park in the city, If your on a bike you can almost park anywhere you want.
Not much to do there other then walk around and look at bikes.
I usually go for a couple hours stroll up and down and look at the bikes, See how the Monster girls are looking then head out.

We head up the Thursday morning, set up the trailer and what not! Thursday night is pretty quiet but Friday morning everybody starts to roll in! Saturday by noon the town is pretty much cleared out!

i've never been myself as well, and actually scheduled that day off to go and see what it's like there too...

like to know the details as well...

me and 10 other riders form gta went. Mostly harleys and touring bikes. But its fun if you havent gone.

Thanks for all the tips so far. Ideally I'd like to go saturday, but if it's a 1-day thing on friday then that plan will be pointless. Can anyone comment if it is only the one day or 3 days?

Be sure to wear your best pirate outfit so you will mix in with the crowd.

It is called Friday the 13th for a reason.

I'll probably be riding down with a friend or two to check it out. Should be a good time!

I have been several times. It is a one day event. I found the place cleared by 6:00 pm. Bring sun screen and a camera. It is amazing riding into town with a group of 100 bikes! The place is packed with bikes and bikers. People in the small towns sit in their lawn chairs watching the spectacle.

Omg finally, I've been looking for some place to wear my pirate outfit.

If my helmet is reflective does it count if I wear my eye patch and bandana underneath?

will be going for the 2nd time, one day spectacle to see every biker cliche possible in a matter of a few blocks.

Bang on the money! Its a fun time, and a couple of hours is plenty (unless you want to see a bunch of black harleys, and compare them LOL)

I'm going with some friends on the "long" route (more of a fun ride, more turns) Here is the link to the post:
