One doesn't need to become a hypochondriac but my brother ignored signs, attributing them to a car crash a few years earlier. When he started slurring his words he went for a check out and found that he had stage four lung cancer. He rarely smoked, a cigar a couple of times year. He lasted a month as it had gone to the brain. Mess with the brain and it stops controlling the other organs that keep you alive.
