plate light?

I truly suck at electrical, so I just need some help here. What is the best way to run a small led light to shine on my plate. Also as a bonus answer, where would be the best place to grab said light?

Tap into the brake light power

So his plate lamp will only come on when he hits his brakes?

The best place to grab power from would be from the stock plate lamp wiring. You can also get power from tail light circuit. Failing those options, your bike may have an acc power lead somewhere in the fuse box you can use.

Only if you don't know how to wire properly, tail light is 3 wire, one is a running light, one is for the brake light and one is ground

^+1 bought the one from royal. I think it was around $15. I just cut off the stock connector from the plate light on the old fender and spliced it with the led light. Plugged it in and it was good to go. Hope it helps. CHeers

Pick up led strips from Walmart the clear ones then stick it to your plate run the wires up to your battery trey and run the ground wire to you ground on your battery and you positive wire to your running light fuse.

I think he was spot on....

i wouldnt mind the plate light screws, but what would i tap into? It already has an undertail with led signals and no plate light.

Tap into the stock plate light circuit. Or a 12v on .

I guess i could find which one that is online? Like i said, it has an aftermarket undertail with the signals built in, so not sure where the factory plate light wire is ? That would be the best bet though if i can find it.

not yet, nut i literally was just at wal mart and i picked up this strip of leds that comes with the 3m adhesive, im about to open it and see how the wiring is. Looks pretty good though, and would stick right above the plate and its like the exact size of a motorcycle plate.

Did you figure this out yet? which option did you go with? I need to put a light on my plates too...

Hmmm, I was bored, so I looked at the box of OEM things I had... and found the tail of my bike... so I pulled the bulb and wiring out and stuck it into a hole above my plate... only issue now is I don't see anywhere to stick the wire into so that it can get power.... any ideas? lol...
