Pinery Provincial Park

Has anyone ridden there? I'm going camping soon and was thinking of bringing my bike but I'm not sure if it's a good or bad idea so I wanted to hear some input. I don't need to carry anything in my bike since other people are bringing cars.

Last time I went I saw 2 R1s, but due to road conditions I'm hesitating if it's a safe place for an SS bike. Obviously I'm gonna be riding at a very slow pace since I just want to cruise and tour, but getting in and out of the park is a bit rough.

Any thoughts from anyone that has gone there? (or you can voice your own opinion even if you haven't been there yet)

Re: Pinery Provintial Park

I used to camp there a lot. They have paved main roads in, but all other side roads are dirt and gravel and bumpy as hell. Also during early morning and late evening hours you need to watch out for deer as the are everywhere there. Those buggers just dart across the main roads. I've seen my friends hit them on more then one occasion (in their cage). Your bike would be useful if you are planning a side trip to the beaches at Grandbend, as parking is a pain there.

Thanks for the tip!

Been there a couple of times. Nice park. You could ride your bike there no problem, just be cautious. The main roads in the park are paved and twisty so it will be a pleasant ride in and out but not meant to be taken at speed. Side roads into the campgrounds are dirt but you should be going dirt-slow there anyway.
I'm going camping this weekend at Algonquin myself. Enjoy your trip!
