Pickup Truck Rental?

I have read some threads before where people rented with free km's. Does anyone know who offers this? The days of the week don't matter that much. I will need it to cross the border and can do so on the weekend or weekdays.

So far Enterprise and Discount both told me that they charge for KM. One of them has the same price no matter what day of the week and the other has weekends cheaper.

A car wont work (some cars have unlimited km). Has anyone rented a pickup with unlimited km, if so where from?

Make sure you specify to the rental company that you are crossing the border. I have used companies in the past that were unlimited in canada, but switched to per km if you wanted to cross the border (and trying to cross without the note on the form doesn't work well at all). Haven't rented a truck recently, so I can't help you out with your question.
 
My girlfriends and I rented a pickup and hailed the bikes to Daytona one year for bike week. It was unlimited, they knew we were crossing the border and hauling three bikes. Unlimited kms but $100/day and we were gone for 11 days.

Avis in Oshawa but this was in 2004. Try em.
 
Actually, there are no "free" kms.

You either pay in the form of a higher daily fee, or per km, but at the end you have to pay somehow. Just find the cheapest option, based on the kilometres you will drive.

Enterprise can and will provide unlimited kms and a pretty decent daily rate. Tell them what you are doing and they can work out a deal.

Sometimes, they will tell you something to discourage a particular kind of rental. They don't like their pick ups being used for certain contractor work where the truck comes back beat up.

But, if you are just jumping across the boarder to pick up a motorcycle, you might find they are pretty cooperative and offer a decent agreement.

You just have to ask the right way.

Thanks I totally forgot about Avis. The main booking number said they have free kms but when I called the specific location closest to me they said they only have 200 included.

Time to start compaing.

How far into the states are you going?

In the past ive had good luck with enterprise, however different locations have different policies.

There was one location in brampton that said i could take it into new york for another 20-30 bucks per day or so i believe.
