Picking up an exhaust - anything to look out for?

Buying a muffler off Kijiji for a CBR 12 - Hindle bolt on.

Anything I should be aware of? I don't know if there is anything past the cosmetic bumps and bruises i should be looking at.

As i understand it, its a simple bolt on with a clip that hangs off the passenger foot pegs.

Thinking of putting in a KnN air filter while i do this mod- any downsides to removing the snorkle at the same time? My bike's fuel injected (do i still need to worry about it running lean or would the fuel injection correct this).

cheers in advance :)

Unless your bike has O2 sensors, the ECU wouldn't know if it's running lean or rich.

I would make sure it has a drainage hole for any water to escape, (usually near the tip of the exhaust). The last Hindle slip-on I bought did not; but it wasn't a problem.

the rule of engines is, when you increase the exhaust, you must increase the intake, or you will burn out the exhaust valves, by losing the back pressure, your engine will run lean and back fire on compression breaking. adding the k&n air filter is only half the intake, you will have to remap for a richer condition for best perfromance
