Picked up my first bike in May 2024

First season where I am riding regularly. I have the beginner mindset and always looking to learn. Last June I discovered Moto Gymkhana. It's different and requires some deft skills to navigate a competitive course. I think that's what makes it fun. I'm about four months in.

Bike season is almost done, and I'm looking forward to next year.

Anyone else try out Moto Gymkhana or interested in practicing with me at some point (next year)? I'm in Brampton where the entire city is one Moto Gymkhana course.

Honda Canada had them at a couple of open houses (Come Ride With Us) a few years ago, I tried it on a CBR250R, it's a lot harder than it looks.

I agree. It is difficult and I think that's part of the fun. Being able to handle inputs at the right time and tension on a bike requires skills.
Since starting, I've learned a lot and hope to continue to improve.

I heard about the Honda Canada open house courses. I wonder if they'll take another look at it.

welcome! nice challenge

Thank you! I've got a lot of work to do still but I'm slowly getting some of the techniques down. It's definitely improved my riding skills. I'm on a starter bike and I'm in no rush. It's a great little hobby for me.
For most of the inmates here it has turned into an addiction. But we can quit any time, right ?

Welcome! You've picked a great hobby on 2 wheels to learn skills. A lot of new riders just want to go fast but then discover that all the skill actually lies in going slow.

I'm not sure if you're the same person, but when I did gymkhana with Ontario Moto Gymkhana, we had a cbr250 amongst us. This was 2 years ago.

Welcome!

Edit: Read the title again...;)
:)

I haven't seen another CBR 250R at an OMG event. Everyone is riding 400cc and up. It's my first season and it's been a big learning experience.

I'm looking forward to next year. Maybe I'll see you there one day.
