Petro Canada Gas Rip Off!!

Every consider the possibility of being a faulty pump?

Kind of a stretch to blame the entire company? Most of these stations are independently owned if I'm not mistaken. :s

lol, that's pretty funny in a way. It's probably not all locations of Petro Canada (they can already stick it in our poopers legally) but likely a glitch and/or single scam. I can only imagine how much extra on they've been getting on top of the regular absurd gas prices.

Costco FTW.

EDIT: I should state that it's probably a good idea for people to keep track of their fuel purchases somehow. I use a complex excel sheet made by a friend of mine which auto-calculates most fields based on a few entered details and previous entries (eg: distance driven between fillups, fuel economy in various formats, costs/per litre, etc). I would automatically know if I got charged a single cent more than the displayed rate.

This actually happened to me at a Shell station, but the price/liters were increasing at a slower rate.

That's retarded!
Faulty pump or intentionally faulty?

That has happened to me at a Crappy Tire gas station too.

I was filling a jug for my lawnmower, I stopped at $20 then it kept going. I told the guy inside and I left $20... but really I have no idea how much gas I actually got. Some.. roughly the amount I would expect for $20.

or he has another spout in the car and holding this one up

This isn't a scam that would be in the realm of a gas station owner to pull off without a technician... I'd guess its faulty equipment. There's a mechanical device in there somewhere which counts the actual flow of fuel and sends the data to the electronics, it's not outside the realm of possibility for that device to break down.

But now that this has been brought to my attention I'll definitely be more vigilant. Maybe stop midway through a fill up every time and just make sure the counter doesn't keep going.

Holy Crap!!!! How was he allowed to hold a cellphone near the pump without the attendant yelling at him through the intercom?

I'm I in the "Lube or No Lube" thread?

He doesn't actually show his hand and the lever. It is possible to gently hold the lever to get the pump to climb minutely, I have topped my tank a few times like this. He also seems to be holding it at an angle that would cause the gas to collect in the nozzle.
Also, why is he only getting 2 liters of fuel? Why is he filming himself getting those 2 liters? Something seems weird.

How is that weird? Any money he selected the fuel grade and while maneuvering the pump realized that its already counting when he hasnt pulled the trigger...By the time he realized what was going on, pulled out his phone and recorded it, it clocked up to 2L....

Some of you REALLY need to lay off the tinfoil...

Its weird because of his youtube comments/responses. He said that he payed for his $3 and left, meaning he already possibly pumped 2 liters, depending on the grade. People don't usually pay for nothing.
I realize that it is probably an error with the pump, and probably that specific franchise also. I suppose I've learned to question things weirdly.

Did you know 9/11 was an inside job and that the moon landing was filmed in a studio?
