Petition to the House of Commons

Whereas:
  • We the citizens of Canada have lost confidence in Justin Trudeau and the Liberal/NDP coalition;
  • We call on the house for a vote of no confidence;
  • We ask for an election 45 days after the vote if won;
  • The current government elected is not acting in the best interest of all citizens;
  • The policies of this government aren't aligning with the crisis Canada is facing: housing costs, infringement of civil liberties, highest inflation in history, unbalanced immigration policies, taxation to the point of poverty, weakening of our economy by importing natural resources that Canada already has and under-utilizes; and
  • Based on the past eight years of this Prime Minister, Canadians do not have confidence in this Prime Minister, after five ethics investigations and Canada's reputation being tarnished on a global scale under his leadership. To the extent that Canada is being discluded from participating in statements regarding important geopolitical events.
We, the undersigned, citizens and residents of Canada, call upon the House of Commons to call for a vote of no confidence and a federal election 45 days following the vote.

The purpose of the above post is to advise members of this forum that there is a place to have a voice. It was not intended to start a political debate, trolling or hate mongering about all other topics where threads already exist.

I've seen a friend post something about this on FB. I thought it was just another missinformed post. Just something about it. Also surprised our butt covering gov even has something like this.

I don't think they have a choice. Petition gets filed, signatures collected, results public. Afaik, it is completely non-binding and I don't expect those in power to acknowledge its existence yet alone implement its recommendations even if it was signed by every Canadian citizen.

Because we have an established democratic procedure where you get to have your say. These petitions are tantrums from people who don’t understand that or don’t vote.
Or those that feel the system is rigged so their votes barely matter. No sane person can argue that voting in this country is reasonable. Voting territories have been established to favour political parties. If votes were weighted equally, outcomes would be far different. In a petition, every person has an equal vote (although they are ripe for abuse and obviously non-binding).

Was it rigged when there was a Harper government?

PP may rub Skippy's nose with it on the floor. That's always entertaining.

Poilievre will wave it in JT's face. JT will go into indignant anger mode and do his "We the Liberal party" canned rhetoric. People will pound desks and yell "Here, here" The lunch bell will ring and the room will empty.

Yes. Eastern provinces have statistically far too many seats. No recent government has meaningfully tried to correct the imbalance. They are all just pigs at the trough. None care about voters. All care about winning and being able to waste billions as they see fit.

We actually voted for his mandate and he delivered

We did not elect the NDP mandate that the liberals have had to adopt to stay in power.

Well, then aim your petition to stop the perfectly legal democratic process that enabled an NDP/Liberal coalition if you’re unhappy with that? I can see how this swings to and fro in this country and that appears to be the marker for a healthy democracy. Some you win and some you lose but when you lose, don’t whine about it.

I mean I didn’t think Harper would abuse the prorogation of parliament but again, that was legally done.

We didn’t have those eastern provinces when Harper was in power?
