Paypal Problem ...

did anyone notice that you used to be able to enter a US address into Paypal and then have the seller on Ebay ship the 'stuff' there ? However, you cannot do that anymore ... it does not allow you to enter a US address into the address area at all... only a canadian address...

HOWEVER

all the address I had added previously as gift addresses still show up as 'available' to ship to ...

what gives ?
 
New "security" feature, cant ship to addresses in a country different from your own anymore. In fact, most ebay sellers are saying you can only ship to your HOME address in paypal now.

You also cant update a canadian credit card once it expires, again due to "security". Had to delete my 7 year old paypal account the other day to add my new credit card... Lost my verified address and all my settings. Annoying as hell.

I just changed my card no problems, so i don't know what is happening with your account.

I doubt that very much... that would mean nobody would have a verified account because every credit card expires eventually.

Thats what the lady told me when i called and asked her why. I called the long distance support number because i only have one credit card and had just clicked "Buy it now" on an auction... She told me if your number changes, no problems adding a new card, or if you get a completely new card, no problem (her suggestion was add another card. I only have one). She said its a recent "feature" within the last 6 months specific only to canadian credit cards. Just going by what their tech support person told me (actually a tier 2, cus the front line guy had no clue what was wrong). She could have been lying but it makes sense because it kept telling me my card wasnt elligible to be updated or added when i tried to punch in the info, and the only thing that had changed was the expiry date.
 
You guys DO know that if you use a credit card to purchase they will ONLY ship to the billing address of the credit card.

Yes it is a security feature.
 
Attach a bank account to your PayPal and you can still ship to US addresses. I've used that option for over 6 years with no issues. In fact, the US address has been used so much, PayPal has verified it.

Never used to be like this. I used to buy stuff for my parents off ebay and have it shipped to them because they didnt have paypal or ebay accounts.

Thats funny, I just did this a month ago, bought parts in Indiana and had them shipped to North Carolina for rework and then back to me in Ontario. No problems for VISA.
 
Update:

Hey guys I was able to resolve my problem. I got a USA account registered to my uncle address stateside. Called VISA and changed my Visa billing address to USA. Then added that card to my Paypal account. Voila it adds perfectly !!! Now I can ship to the USA again :D
