Pay as you go insurance?

Hi.

I am in Toronto and 20 years old. I got a quote from State Farm for $1600 for a Kawasaki Ninja 250r. Only problem is I haven't had my G1 for 5 years, it will be 5 in December, which is no good for this years riding season. Is there any insurance company that will let me pay per month as opposed to a full year? kind of like a pay as you go monthly contract?

thanks.

Some companies allow you to spread your payments over the year, but nobody will write you a 6 month policy. This has been discussed a million times before, read the insurances stickies (pay special attention to posts by vifferfun on policy used vs. amount paid for each month of the year).

You could sign up with another company (state farm is fantastic for ss bikes, but others should come close for 250's) and cancel in 6 months, but if you are paying monthly, you will have a big cheque to write in december (again, see viffer's posts).

No month to month insurance policy is available in Canada... not that i know of... Your best bet is to just do a 1 year insurance policy and cancel and go with statefarm once you reach 5 years from your G1. Though your better off just leaving the policy intact for the entire year as you'll eat up most of your premiums in the next few months.
