I'll do my best to describe it in detail.
I'll add more posts on an ongoing basis, and then update it all and post in the first posting in this thread.
Day 1 - Night Class:
Boring 3 hour lesson.
You fill out the paper work for applying for your M2.
They explain everything to you and you fill out everything off your license.
Once that's complete you watch about 15 videos, and take up questions at the end of every video.
They give you a book which contains the questions for each video.
Nothing is marked - it's all taken up verbally.
End of the class, they will tell you which lot to go to for Saturday Morning.
Day 2 - Saturday Morning:
When you arrive on site, you'll meet the instructors and they'll break you off into 2 groups. (You have already been divided into 2 groups in your night class, they will break you up into a smaller group on Saturday. There were 18 people that were there on Saturday morning, which means 2 groups of 9)
It's basically 1 instructor for every 5 students.
The group I was in had 9 students, including me and 2 instructors.
They will start off by explaining the basics of a motorcycle.
- Front brake
- Rear Brake
- Clutch
- Gear shifting
This is a pretty quick explanation - about 5 minutes.
You can ask questions and I recommend you do if you have any. DON'T BE SHY. not everyone understands the clutch.
My advice: Learn how to stall a motorcycle/car and you will know what you need to do so that you don't stall it.
Best way to learn.
Once they've explained this, you pick a bike, and a partner, and line up.
One person sits on the bike, and the other person will push you. THE BIKE STAYS OFF - and you keep it in Neutral.
They get you to practice balancing on the bike like this.
You sit on the bike, and your partner will push you from behind (running speed) and then you will coast, and then use the breaks to come to a stop at a cone.
You do this to both sides of the parking lot, and then switch.
The next lesson is about balancing and turning with the bike off.
Same concept. You sit, your partner pushes you and then gives you a little shove and you have to make a 90 degree turn.
This teaches you to balance and control your head movement (LOOK WHERE YOU WANT TO GO).
You make left turns, and right turns, and then switch.
You do this for a little bit and then you take a 15 minute break.
After your break, you turn on the motorcycle.
MORE TO COME - GOTTA GET BACK TO WORK LOL
