Parking Laws in Toronto ?

Hi all,

I have gone through many threads now and got even more confused as a newbie ! In simple words can some one explain to me what are the laws to park a motorcycle in a public Paying spot ? Do you need to buy a parking ticket when your parking on a car spot on a street ?

For example, would you be able to park on this street without paying a ticket (like this bike ) ? Link : http://goo.gl/maps/9klsL

Non lawyer words will be appreciated. Thanks.

If it's a pay lot, you have to pay (unless the attendant is really nice to you, sometimes happens). If it's pay parking on the street, you don't have to pay but do have to abide by the time limits and positioning. Enforcement for time varies by location. If it's free parking for cars, it's free parking for bikes. If it says no parking/stopping/standing etc, then it means exactly what it says.

That bike is perfectly good to go at that location.

There's a sticky post that explains the whole thing. Simple explanation: You can park, for free, in on-street spots where you would buy a ticket from a machine. That's all.

Minor edit to include parking meters.
