Hey All,

Quick question, i just moved work locations and now will be working at the North York Civic Centre, which is at Empress or Yonge/Sheppard area. Anyone who works in that area knows of good parking spots ( free ofcourse )

thanks in advance

Cheers!

Dave

There should be lots of street parking in the area...

Its still Toronto after all.

i know it is toronto, but i have never parked in that area before and just wanted some advice on where to park, so i DON'T end up getting a ticket =)

thanks for the help though

I always see a Ninja 250 and a scooter parked behind the Library where the bicycle rack is. Check it out. Right beside the drop off crescent.

I work at young and finch in the xerox building and park it rite in front of the building on the walkway in front of the Starbucks rite by security. On private property cops wont ticket you unless they are called. Its a bike park where ever it fits.(not public sidewalks of course)

thanks guys, when i went to my first day last week and went for lunch at the Subway near Extreme fitness, i saw a gixxer parkign right in front on the sidewalk, i wonder if he will get ticket

but again thanks guys

Cheers!

Ya I've seen the same gsxr parked there all last week so if he keeps parking prob means he's not getting ticketed but you never know, good luck in finding a spot

You can park there but it isn't your closest option. If you work at North York Civic Centre though (I do too) just park by the library by the bicycles... It's off of Beecroft and there's even a little covered area at the beginning of the u-driveway in case of rainy days.

+1. I live in this neighbourhood and parking enforcement is fierce in this area. They do not mess around. If you park in a questionable spot for one day and survive it, you are probably alright. If you are on a bike, there are plenty of places to park for free but in a car, you are going to be paying or at risk of getting towed if you park in one of the customer only private lots.

There are a few bikes that park there pretty regularly and I've never seen tickets on any of them.

I work in the area too and always ride in. Tons of free city street parking including all of the above mentioned areas. Alternatively, although not as close as the library/Beecroft spot, you can also park on the side streets on the east side Yonge St (across of the Subway you had mentioned, Moxie's, Extreme Fitness) on Spring Garden and Hollywood

I used to work at 5160 Yonge Street, on the south-west corner of Yonge and Park Home and found a street where you can park before 8:00am and then leave a bike there for the rest of the day without any concern for tickets.

First street that runs east from Yonge Street north of Empress Avenue is Kingsdale Avenue. You can park on the south side before 8am and then stay there all day. I parked there for several years and never got a ticket. There were usually a few other bikes that would show up after I arrived and they would be there when I left. Most of the other streets in the area have no parking before 8am, so if you get to work before 8 you can't park on those streets.

I retired in December, so you might want to check the signs to see if they have changed the hours since last fall.
