Parking bike outside

I'm not able to keep my bike in the garage, will it be bad for the bike in any way if I am parking it outside in the months of may - October with a cover on it? I know theft is an issue but in just referring to additional wear or mechanical problems from doing this.

Might want to get a trickle charger for your battery and check it periodically.

He is not storing it, just parking outside... Oh boy, Selena, haven't they taught you to read ? or is it way past your bed time? =)))

If you are just parking it outside, its fine' I'd just throw a cover on it to keep it from cooking in the sun. Its basicly the same as will it hurt to park my car outside? well no...BUT indoors is always better because lets face it, temperature differences, direct sunlight and moisture eats metal and rubber and paint.

If you are storing it

beautiful answer fore storing
I personally would cover the hell out of the thing and keep it from areas that are in the sum all day and collect water. Throw in some fuel stabilizer to the tank, make sure everything is properly oiled and greased and shove er into a dark corner.

Good suggestion on the cover. I'm in a similar situation but don't want to have to cover it every time I park at home. Anyone have any clever ideas? Space is very limited so shelter structures probably won't work.

Btw, don't mean to threadjack but sounds like the OP's question has been answered.

Thanks for the replies guys. When I store it in the winter I'm honna rent an indoor storage unit. My parents cars get the garage so for the summer when I'm not riding I gonna keep it chained in the backyard with a cover, glad to hear it shouldn't adversely affect the bike

Get a good quality bike cover. The ones with vents and tie downs at the bottom. Well secured they offer great protection for outdoor weather!

You can find them at Walmart anywhere or even Canadian tire
