Parking at Seneca College (Newham Campus)

Hello all,

Just a quick question that I hope someone here goes the Seneca and rids a bike.

I'm starting my courses soon, and wonder how Bike parking works at the Newham campus, do we still park at the parking lot? Or is there another designated spot we can park without paying?
 
A decade ago, when I was going there, bike parking was on the left if you were entering from the main entrance on Finch (near the lil firestation thing).
 
Google Streetview is a little outdated, but i've seen bikes parked here http://goo.gl/maps/bVeop behind the "Danger" sign

This http://goo.gl/maps/Gwhqq was and i believe still is the designated "motorcycle" parking space

I've seen people park their bikes next to the bicycle racks; aslong as you're not blocking any walkways or entrances... seneca security doesn't seem to care
 
I was at the Newnham campus for a year. Saw bikes parking in the very front parking lot and didn't require to buy a pass or a ticket.
 
Do you mean the visitor/short term parking?

Not anymore. With the new parking system, you can't get in through that lot.
You could just park at the bike racks near building A or any of the aforementioned sites.
 
They've added a new parking system, so the bar won't lift unless you insert your card or something. However, I noticed that the parking lot designated for staff had a short bar and I could easily squeeze around it and I was able to park my bike right by the stairwell where everyone used to park (nice shade as well)

I dunno what the penalty is if you get caught doing that but I hardly ever see a guard at that booth anyways. If you see one I guess just pay for that day?

I don't go there anymore and last time I was there was sometime mid July when I had to drop my gf off at her class. Dunno if it has changed since then.
 
Hello fellow Senecan!

I always park infront of the new A building to the right or left of the entrance and never had a problem. You'll also see bikes on the west side of A building where that square spot is.
There's also spots infront of E/F where the bicycle rack is.

When i went there years ago, i was told by the security guards that i can park beside any of the bicycle racks. Theres some beside the A building (its right when you enter from the finch entrance/exit), the gym, theres a few near the D building i think but its gated (you can just bypass the gate).
 
I just usually parked in the staff parking lot next to the steps or at square cement part right next to A as Dayao12 mentioned. Security doesn't care.
 
Thanks everyone! I parked at the bicycle rack on my saturday course last semester too, but not sure how it'd look like on a weekday. Anyways thanks everyone for the info!

Bike/car wash fundraiser!
Maybe do some group discounts for members!
Perhaps a full Seneca(all campus) event/group ride!
Oh, and of course, stunt show ;)
Maybe we can convince ERTEFA to have a meet there!

There were like 6 other bike/scooter at campus last night when I went for class, not sure how many people are interested in getting a club set up tho
