PA ride

Looking for some people to join me on a PA ride this weekend. I'd like to keep it small. Pace is fast(?). I don't consider myself fast but most people tell me I am nuts. Dunno. Once we get in to PA we will probably be doing 2X+ PSL. No worries I am not looking to kill myself and I slow down when people fall out of my view. I expect the same, if you are faster. Oh and no stupid **** on the few highways we'll take. I keep that for the small roads ;)

Here is what I am looking to do:

I did most of these roads last year with a friend, and then with my GF and we had a BLAST. You will actually have a twisty overload. Roads quality range from track like bliss to tight forest roads with cracks. Here's a taste of what how it can get

Last year we went on 6 to Meshoppen then we turned on 87 through Mehoopany. 87 was a great road but 6 was boring without going stupid fast. You can see I modified the route to go through 414,154 then 87 to stay off 6 and increase the twisty per KM count :) I'm not sure how good these roads are, but I got them off motorcycle websites and they look good in google maps.

First one is abot 530 and second is about 480. I have a shorter ones if you are interrested.

Saturday or Sunday? When you say 'stupid fast' is that SS stupid fast (200+) or KLR stupid fast? I need to get out of the province...Planning a ride to New Jersey so a few of these should get me into shape.

Well he said double posted limit, but I swear I saw a sign that said 15mph on it... so, I would probably be riding the same way if it was me. :)

Definitely not stupid. Most roads are tight twisties so 80-160ish. I dont really go fast on straights. Highways just 20ish over.

It's a two day trip loop. 500 km on those roads is quite draining. I could cut the loop and make it a day trip. Maybe I should give that a shot.

I was just down there this past weekend.Need to get down there again I know the good roads 44-144 loop especially the 44 section just before the 414, new pavement and twistys to your hearts content and don't forget wykoff run. I might be interested if you do a day trip on the sunday. It can be done in 1 day leave at 7-8 there by 10-11 ride the whole loop then dinner and home by 8-9. BTW the 414 is not that great...looks really good on maps but not much twistys and the road is chewed up also there was lots of weekend traffic going to the parks.

Thanks. I was trying to remember if it was 44 or the 144 that I really liked. But are you sure it was 44 that was better? Did you do the 144 from renovo to where it intersects with 44? I am pretty sure the the section of 144 from renovo to 44 is really good. Maybe 44 is good from Haneyville to where it intersects with 144, when they are not as good from there on.

664 is another good road just a bit west of 44. It has hood pavement with sweepers. Good warmup.

I guess we could cut some of the fluff and do the just the best roads. The way I made the route it avoids 219 for some decent roads, but to save time we could do 219 and trim that west loop.

Too bad about the 414. It seemed to be a good way to get to 87, which is an amazing road. I can't believe it's 110KM long. It just flew by.

If it would only be a day trip a good run would be 44 south from coudersport to 144 to 120 ... then gotta do wykoff at least 4 times the best rode down there 10-15 mins of bliss. I would ride down there just to do wykoff all day..... its like the first three corners of snake road except 15 mins of it :D. After wykoff whatever works for me cause I will be satisfied by then.

BTW a quick alternate to get to coudersport take 400-16 to 44 quieter no popo

I think all your Wykoff runs were much less than 10 minutes on Friday

Alright so let's do this. I kinda put off planning just for Sunday since a friend said he might join me for the two day ride.

The bandit do you have a google maps route, gpx, or garmin route so I load it pn my gps?

Holllaaaaaaaa ended up with this. Good day to ride. I didn't want to spend all night building my route. Looking for suggestions to avoid the 219 return stretch. Otherwise I will probablly mess around the side roads depending on time, but I rather go with some known good roads.

lets do it! I'm even up for doing it on a weekday if you're free. I can usually get Tuesday and Thursdays off
