I just looked at my policy.. wrt out of province insurance, and the only thing I could see is "territory description" that lists Kitchener Waterloo, Cambridge... would that mean I am _only_ insured in that area?
I plan to call my agent tomorrow.. I was just hoping some one would give me the heads up on the routine for getting insurance coverage in USA and the maritimes...

and,, another question.. if you are traveling and your vehicle has engine troubles.. does insurance cover the costs of a blown engine?

Section 1.2 OAP 1: Ontario Automobile Policy (covers motorcycles as well)

"This policy covers you and other insured persons for incidents occurring in Canada, the United States of America and any other jurisdiction designated in the Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule, and on a vessel travelling between ports of those countries. All of the dollar limits described in this policy are in Canadian funds."

Section 7.2.1 OAP 1

"We will not cover the following losses unless they result from a peril for which you are covered or they are caused by fire, theft or vandalism and your policy covers these perils

....consisting of, or caused by mechanical fracture or breakdown of any part of the automobile;"

so you are covered in the US, but not normal mechanical breakdown unless the mechanical breakdown is a result of a fire.
