Ordering Fairing Set

Hi guys,

I'm looking to replace the fairings on my red '08 ninja250, I found a manufacturer/seller online.

http://www.aliexpress.com/item/2871...11-ZX-250R-2008-2011-250-EX250/528078802.html

I'm not sure how legit they are, and if the fitting is going to be right or if the colour is going to match the gas tank, but the price is really cheap for an entire set.
I'm just wondering if anyone had any experience with this company, or if anyone wants to suggest another manufacturer that isn't going to be pricey.

Thanks!

Edit: And if the 2010 fairing fits onto the 2008 model?

The shades of red were a bit different depending on the year some years had a passion red and some had a sunbeam red....I think 2008 is the passion red

It's passion red, but because it's from China, I'm thinking that they don't correctly match the shades and it's just ashame that amazon.com doesn't ship to Canada ...

They are pressed in china. Most likely not injected molding. From my experience they don't fit perfect, some work has to be done. Did mine in a day (take lots if pics when removing things). Color match is pretty dead on with factory colors but keep in mind your tank may have faded a bit (sun/washing...) but you won't be able to tell the dif.

Make sure you have the correct tools (dremal, files, drill bits, screw drivers...)

Take your time and try not to end up with extra screws.

Where did you order your fairings?

Was thinking that this is going to be my project after I winterize my bike.

Not all fairings from China are press molded, I got mine from China and they were damn near a perfect fit even lining up with the OEM fairings.
I got mine from cbrfairings.com but Honda Shut them down.

the different years do have different shades of red, so its really a toss up as to what you'll be getting...
when you do, post back on how they turned out.

Quick update:

After doing a lot of research last night, I will not be ordering from the Chinese manufacturer (I love my bike too much to put some cheap fairing on). I found a really good manufacturer who does OEM parts for Kawasaki, found the parts I needed ...

Chris helped me out through the phone and online live chat.

They're from NY, so I'm expecting shipping to be anywhere from 7 days to 2 weeks! Parts are also cheaper by almost 100$ (380$ from Kahuna to replace my left fairing, but 227$ to from Mrcycles).

Until you get hit with broker and shipping fees!!

I don't think they sell in parts :( I'm looking for the left and tail fairing, and probably getting cheekeebandito to weld the crack on my right fairing.

Why not buy a whole set?
In the end it would be the cheapest way to go.

I have also heard good things about Auctmarts.

I'm still shopping around for prices, and not necessarily. I still need to take a picture of the damage on my bike (right fairing) to see if it can be welded by Les. I highly doubt my left fairing can be repaired because there are a few chipped pieces.

Left fairing US - $227.00, CA - $279.80

I was just on the phone with ATC Corral, not sure if they're trying to get me to do business with them, but they said that the make in the Canadian vs. US ninja250 model is different (He didn't know exactly what when I asked him) ... now I don't think that there's THAT much of a difference that my fairings would not "fit" properly since people do order from Chinese manufacturers and some how get their fairings to fit (not injection mould or ABS plastic, not OEM either) ... so would anyone know the "difference"?

Just make sure they are Injection mold and not press mold, Press molds can be very difficult to fit and can have warping in them.
Injection molds will fit 99% of OEM and you might have to drill/file (3 seconds) some of the holes from a paint drip just to get the bolt in.

Everyone's been very helpful and insightful on this thread. Thank you so much :) OEM is injection mould, I have cross checked with all sellers, I don't think they guy at ATC knew much about fairings/cowlings or how they're made if they're OEM (ABS plastic, injection mould etc.)

Now, I just called around to get some prices from the US OEM manufacturer and Kahuna/Snow City/ATC ...

US OEM - for left fairing ($227), heat pad ($5.95), tail fairing ($51.80) + shipping ($56) + 13% tax = $367.26 (depending if they do DHL or some other company, the brokerage is around 10$ or 2.5% of duty/taxes)

Kahuna/Snow City/ATC - for left fairing ($279), heat pad ($52.10), tail fairing ($68.33) + tax = $451.44

So I'm saving around 100$ ... is it worth the wait for shipping? I want to squeeze whatever is left in this season and get my bike back on the road ...
Plus ... the heat pad behind the fairing, I may just order from the US manufacturer since they're only 6$ - that's almost a 50$ difference right there!
