An off-duty Peel Regional Police officer was clinging to life late Sunday — one day after a motorcycle crash with an SUV near Orangeville.
Const. Ewa Domagalska, a seven-year veteran based out of Peel’s 11 Division, was off-duty when she sideswiped an SUV on Airport Rd., near Hwy. 9, at around 4:45 p.m. Saturday.
In a chain reaction, two other motorcycles also collided, the OPP said.
One person was taken to a hospital, but with non life-threatening injuries.
Domagalska, 30, was airlifted to St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto with life-threatening injuries, Peel Const. George Tudos said.
He said on Sunday evening that the officer “is still on life-support.”
Her family was at the hospital, consulting regularly with doctors.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with Ewa, her family and friends,” Tudos said. “It’s a difficult time for her family and for our organization.”
