Options for tires - 140 size

Anyone have any tires they can suggest that come with a 140 (17in) rear? Only ever really had experience with 180 so this is all new to me, it's weird not having limitless options anymore haha. Thanks.

You can squeeze a 150 onto a 140 rim without affecting handling very much. Then you can get Pilot Power(no 2CT), Pilot Road 2/3, BT-016, BT-023, Sport Attack, Road Smart, Angel ST, etc.

The only "sport" tire I know that comes in a 140 is BT-003RS. It's pretty much a street legal track tire and you wont be getting much mileage out of it.

Newman - It's actually a 130 Rim and I figured going a size up won't hurt so we're both thinking the same way here haha. I think going up 2 sizes would be a bad idea though.

DoubleJ thanks for the info, I'll look into those for sure.

what bike? if it's a ninja 250 (since you are talking 130 rear i think that's a pretty good guess) look at the BT-016, 110/70-17 and 150/60-17 rear. I've been thru 2 sets of those and love them.

I believe Pirelli Diablo II's also come in a 140

only ones worth getting are the Bridgestone BT45, Pirelli Sport Demon or Michelin Pilot Activ. These are all bias-ply though. I'd say go with radials and move up to 150's. Thats what I'm running on a 250...

It's a 2009 Triumph Bonneville, not a 250. The stock tires are radials and seem half decent, was just curious if anyone had any recommendations.

I'm thinking of replacing the Lasertec with Activs on my 2010 Bonneville when the time comes.
Also looking at the 140/80 or even a 130/90

What did you end up going with?
