Money hungry cops and provincial government, no surprises there.

Someones gotta pay to justify OPPs existence!

Really? Go drive the 400 on a long weekend. Take a trip on the 407 during rush hour.

Government and law enforcement are less credible w/r to safety than a five year old carrying a hammer and claiming he didn't try to use it. You know they're going to lie to you, the question is how much damage did they do before you caught them?

?? wouldn't that make it parellel to one another.. maybe you're talking about 401 and hwy.10

You obviously haven't been to the top end of the 410 lately. But I digress ...

I don't find Ontario to have anywhere near as many speed traps as, say, Ohio.

I'd like to know how much money gets raked in annually from speeding tickets.

+1 The USA has waaay more highway patrol.

This is a pretty vacuous statement. There's over 50 states in the union, and they all have their own police forces. Within those states, many have municipality police forces. I have the opposite opinion, and I've spent probably the better part of a year there over many visits. I've driven in approximately 40 states. New York State has quite a few active patrol cars, but Ontario is always worse when I'm returning home.

I ride as little as possible in Ontario precisely because of the police state we live in. Today I was riding on I-79 in Pennsylvania at 150 in a 100 zone. I was keeping up with a white Crown Victoria that suddenly slowed down and yes it was the police. Did he pull me over - no. I'd be in jail for the way I rode this week through West Virginia and surrounding States if they had Ontario laws. Yes I see the police but they seem to have far more discretion. Ok, all those who think going 10 over is criminal jump in and scold me. I make no excuse for riding at high speed, lift my shield and see the smile on my face. Also bear in mind that most of back roads are empty down there and I slow when I see oncoming traffic. I will go to my grave knowing I lived my life without regrets.

Lmfao, so they use radar to catch people breaking the law, wow they are total jerks eh, lol.

^ (oily posted too soon dammit)

Anyway.....upper NY state is way worse IMO. Also...beware of online votes...it just takes a few people with axes to grind to skew things.

So you would rather have the 400 un patrolled on a long weekend.

Ha, I can just imagine the carnage that would cause.

personally I would rather have police patrolling and looking for actual bad drivers, not just camping under a bridge and booking speeders.
