Ontario in the news !!!

I was just watching one of the local NBC Affiliates here and they were talking about areas that were doing well managing the COVID outbreak.

They actually mentioned Ontario as doing really well with cases steadily trending down from 5000 new cases/day in the summer to 500 now, and over 80% of essential care workers and teachers already double vaccinated.

Take a bow, and a big virtual pat on the back. That took commitment

<cynicism font> Haven't they fired the 20% yet?!? 80% seems awfully low at this point in time. </cynicism font>

You want to thank local politicians the most. They have taken a lot of flack over tough shutdown decisions and still face challenges from the antivaxxers. They also overcame the federal missteps with vaccine delivery and weak communication from Health Canada.

Not as bad a us.

We're around 60% at the moment and started 6 months before Canada. There are more of the general public vaxed than essential workers and teachers :(

Its a hard situation. I think the local politicians and healthcare workers on the front lines were dammed if they did, and dammed if they didn't

One of the main numbers i keep an eye on are the ICU numbers... started the 4th wave with low 100s and haven't gone past 200 and it seems to be going back down, even with kids back at school!
Light at the end of the tunnel? Maybe

I manage a clubhouse for a yacht club with a bar (volunteer position) , if the idiots I deal with having 150 members is a sample of what the government deals with daily , well Holly tap dancing Christ.
Hats off to anybody managing these folks.

As it is with everything lol

Just replace politicians with "some jackass who spends more time talking out of their ass than thinking before talking."
