Old bikes

some insurance co. wont insure bikes older than 30 years, try a dealer that carries jevco, they do mine.

I have a BMW with non-conformant VIN. I had plenty of trouble this year to get it insured. My previous agency was State Farm. I quoted with several insurance companies before the expiration of my current policy for all my vehicles and house to get a multiline discount. TDIns (Primmum) would insure everything except the BMW. The VIN threw their system for a loop. I tried Trafalgar (same problem as TD). I tried State Farm again but the premium was crazy high. Eventually I found Jevco would insure the bike for a good price. I used John Duffy as the brokerage; highly recommend them as their customer service is excellent.

Well she is on the road. John duffy was like $630 with Jevco. State farm was like $1200 lol Ended up with Wawanesa though James Insurance in bowmanville for $518.

Funny thing was they wanted me to get the cert first before they would insure it.

Its all done now. Funny how much fun this thing is..lol No more SS bikes for me on the street.

Jevco's prices have went up a lot. TD is pretty inexpensive for non-sportbikes. I got a quote for a CX500 $520 I am 25 yr old 1 ticket. If I was over 30 it would be something liek $350 when I quoted it.

My cb360 is with Jevco. Only company that would insure it.

From what I found last year, there are a few that will do it, but their computer system won't work with the old style VIN, so you need to get someone that's willing to do the work. Some of them (new agents maybe?) just said they can't get the system to recognize it and wouldn't give a quote. Others said they would have to do it manually. I ended up with Jevco.
