ok - very odd question about brands/labels - bear with me ... a lighter question...

i picked up a very sweet joe rocket honda cbr jacket from a friend of mine - brand new - paid peanuts for it. (store value $225 - what i paid - $25)

however, i will be most likely purchasing either a kawasaki or suzuki bike (newb rider here)

how bad will this possibly look?

as i am new - just wondering if there was any etiquette here to follow - lol

its just an odd/dumb question - some friends have already been giving me grief! its freakin jacket! a nice one at that.
(if you see a guy on the street with a cbr jacket riding a ninja - ya - thats me! i'm that guy! ... lol)
 
If you like the jacket and don't hate Honda you're good. If someone gives you any grieve about it either tell them where to go or tell them one of your fleet of bikes is a Honda and you got confused when you were selecting your jacket from your extensive wardrobe of motorcycle sartoriality.

Where what you like and ignore everyone's comments. If they're only commenting on that and not the million other things you may be criticized for (not ATGATT, ATGATT, the speed you ride, where you place your bike on the road, etc) you're doing well.
 
I'm sure you will get a lot of strange looks for sure!!! You still have the option to buy a CBR if you don't have a bike yet.

BTW what size is the jacket? I have a CBR and may be interested if you decide to sell!!!:lol:

you're right i could still get a CBR - so who knows - i'll keep your post in mind.....even though you do know my cost now, i kinda lost my edge there for bargaining. :)

it's so hard to find Kawi gear... there are a lot of suzuki stuff out there.

Joe rocket makes nice jackets. I'm guessing the Honda logo is on the front? As long as the colour matches (for me it's more of a priority), I'd say wear it :)

There's a used Kawi jacket for $38 in one of the Kensington vintage stores, green and blue. Unfortunately nothing in mesh or perforated leather (why I went in in the first place).


To the OP: forget etiquette. Wear what you like. If it matters to you that the brands don't match, then get a new jacket or bike, otherwise, enjoy the ride.

Personally, I try to avoid branded clothing, unless I get it for free or very close to it. Never made sense to me to pay for the priviledge of advertising for someone else.

wear whatever you like.
Heck, I know several dudes who wear leather Danier 'motorcycle' jackets that haven't even touched a motorcycle in their lives.
 
Meh rock it.... who cares. If they have a prob with it then its their problem not yours....
 
When I see someone riding with apparel that differs from the brand of motorcycle, All I think is - He/She must own or owned other bikes. No biggie. I don't have a honda but I would sport that jacket if it cost me only $25..
 
Lol - as I've mentioned before, people are so concerned about "looks" etc here.it's quite unbelievable ...

Who cares if you have a Honda jacket on a different bike? Obviously if you want to pose at timmies, yeah change it.. Otherwise don't worry about it.
