OK, those of you with No Mar tire changers

Have you tried to mount a Dunlop 200/55 with it?

I did a set of Q2s tonight for a friend and they were easy as anything... and I'll be damned if I could get a set of 200/55 Dunlop slicks on my BST wheels no matter how I greased them up or how much force I put on it (hey I said EFF it and gave it everything I had at one point). No luck.

Cold garage? Cold tires?

Did you try soften up the sidewalls up first by standing on them.

The tires would have been about 12 degrees. No I didn't try standing on them... I am thinking of putting the tire warmers on and heating them up well before trying again...

I've found that every wheel and every tire is different. Get someone to help you keep BOTH beads in the wheel centre while trying to get the last bit on. Don't forget to lube the inside of the tire at the last section that doesn't want to pop on.

I have done it. The Dunlop rears are the most difficut tires I have mounted when they're cold. I got the thingamahand tool from NoMar and that helps, you really need to make sure that the beads are in the drop center to get the last foot or so of bead over the lip.

Did you guys grab your NOMAR tire changer from blue streak?

Some friends and I went splits on it, and one friend with a condo in Florida ordered it direct and shipped it to his condo.

Thanks for asking Dave :p

Did you bolt it to the concrete floor or just to a some lumber?

Sorry Nick, this was quite some time ago. I bolted it to a big piece of 3/4 OSB, painted it red, and PL'd an industrial rubber mat to the bottom. Works good like that. The board is big enough that I'm standing on it when using it so it doesn't get away.
