Wow just goes to show you how we are getting f**ked at the pump when WTI oil drops over $5 in one day and we see half a cent drop at the pumps, when we had a 2 cent drop this week with just a few dollars drop in the price of oil?????? just seems to be smoke and mirrors to me!

You know I actually wouldnt mind so much if the oil companies just came out and said flat out we'll charge whatever the F we want take it or leave it, just like any other product or service. Instead of this nonsense where they fein like they are treating it like an actual commodity.

$1.25/L or $2.00/L, you're still going to buy it. Unless you take the bus.
Even if you take the bus, you're still paying for it, the bus need oil. Everything you buy need oil to be either transported or fabricated, unless you live in northern Canada living in a cabin and hunting your food with a bow you made out of root.

cant wait for a companies to come out with long range electric cars. 2000km per charge, solar panel on roof

Prices go up and down. Rodney video to follow.

Why didn't you praise the gas companies two weeks ago when crude shot up but pump praises declined?

From 260km up to 480kms with a possible 45 minute charge. Base price for the 260km model is $57K

Because they can.

The best part is, it will drop $5 and you'll see it drop maybe a couple cents at the pump. Then it'll go back up like $2 (so still $3 cheaper than it was) and it'll go up to higher than it was before the initial $5 drop.

Here's a historical chart showing crude prices versus pump prices for the last 5 years..

They are treating it like an actual commodity. The price is determined by supply and demand.

Consider yourself lucky that they're showing so much restraint. They could charge $2.00 a litre and we couldn't do a damn thing about it. I guess we could all get on those crowded buses and subways. Um, well, actually, no we can't. They're already crowded. I suppose we could start buying diesel. No, that doesn't work either. Car pooling? If you're lucky enough to find some people going exactly where you're from to exactly where you're going. Cycling works for about 5 months of the year, as long as your workplace has a shower.

Let's face it, our infrastructure is designed based on cheap gas. And now we don't control the price of gas. Get ready for a massive transfer of wealth - we've already been seeing it for the last few years.

So, what's your point?
Statistics can be made to say whatever you want them to say.
The chart looks much different if you only look at the last year:

Looks pretty much the same. My point is the pump price follows the trend line for the crude price..sometimes higher, sometimes lower depending on volatility, but over the long term, when crude is up, gas is up..when crude is down, gas is down. It's not rocket science.

Price of oil is falling, but we're not seeing that at the pumps yet. Gas companies and governments needed to squeeze as much out of us as long as possible.

Then why does it shoot up by .02 or .03 every time it's a long weekend ?
