So, I order a package from a store out in New Westminister BC. I have dealt with these guys a few times and they always get my stuff out to me on time.

They send me a tracking notice email and the delivery date is for 29 June, the day before the long weekend. On the 29th I look at the tracking info again saying:

In route, Whitby - Kingston. On delivery

I think great, package will come before long weekend. Stay home all day. 5 PM comes and goes and I think, bummer, package won't be coming today after all. I do look at the status again out of curiosity and it now reads Delivered.

Hmmm... I assume it must mean it's at the depot here in Kingston and I will get it Tuesday now since Monday is a holiday.

Tuesday, still home all day, nothing. Call Fed Ex. I'm told it was delivered. Operator stated it was put in Mail box @ 1340. I explain I was home, sitting in my living room @ that time with view of front porch making it impossible for anyone to have come up my driveway. Now I'm waiting for a call back because they have to contact the station it was picked up from.

My thought: It was the long weekend and the driver didn't want to make the deliveries so he/she punted/dumped/stole package and took off to get drunk :)

My question here is.....

What backpack should I be wearing?

This one?

Or this one?

Seriously, what usually happens here?

More specifically, after I get fed a load of **** from Fed Ex, do I contact shipper or is it now my problem and Fed EX's?

Never been boned on a delivery as I'm anti-UPS and usually only get things shipped USPS or regular mail for domestic....

It's not uncommon for a driver to run out of time on a given day but report everything as delivered. He then sneaks it onto his round when he has more time, a few days later. Hapened to my Uncle not 2 weeks ago with Canada Post. Website said it had been delivered etc.

East side of Causway. Beside Base.

Would give it time to see however I'm moving this weekend so time is not something I have loads of.... :(

Bummer...that place is pretty OK, I'd be surprised if someone nabbed it. Probably delivered to wrong place. You moving to somewhere else in Kingston...I'm there during term time.

I'm betting he'll never face any theft charges

The other "theory" is that delivery drivers "steal" stuff that looks like it may be valuable and sit on it for a couple of weeks to see if any fuss is made over the missing parcel.

I'd shout loudly and often to Fed Ex. See if you can shake it loose from their system.

Tell them you're a bioweapons guy and you'd like your bag full of Ebola back.

I am a bioweapons guy funny enough.

I know it didn't get lifted. People don't steal from this neighborhood. My Dad came up here to pick up a bike I was selling while deployed and a guy across the street I didn't even know came over to find out who he was before helping him load it on the trailer.

I'll call back tomorrow.

Figures something has to get messed up in an otherwise clockwork move.

Funny I work at fedex airplane side of it anyways. I would call 1-800-go fedex and make a big fuss about it. Speak to a manager or who ever is in charge. Unless you stated it was ok to be left with out a signature(obviously you didn't) they shouldn't of left it in your mail box.

The go fedex operator gave me the same old...... file open, will get back to you routine so nothing new there. I gave to company who sent the package a friendly heads up as to it not arriving and they said..... better let them know one of the items is LE/MIL possession only.

Looks like I might be calling RCMP and reporting it stolen to cover my *** if I get no reply today. And by stolen I mean by the driver.

Hope he/she had a good long weekend. :(

Check in with the shipper if they shipped it NSR. If they didn't then you know someone at the dwelling had to sign for it. If noone signed for it, then the FedEx driver is a lying, thieving piece of scum.
