hey guys/gals,
I've been lurking for quite some time but figured i'd finally introduce myself.
I wrote my M1 back in August and recently passed the Safety Course at RTI in North York. I will have my M2 at the end of october. I recently picked up my first bike through Kijiji. It's a 2005 Kawasaki Ninja 636.
Yes yes, I know...you guys are probably saying it's too much for a first bike but i'm actually quite comfortable on it. I'm 5'8 around 160lbs, but the bike is lowered and doesn't feel heavy at all. I really don't see myself dropping this thing at all. Also I find that as long as you know your limits to the bike and don't twist your wrist like a lunatic, then it's fine.
I made sure I was really comfortable with the bike before I even went out on the road. So I just hit an empty parking lot doing slow speed stuff and emergency braking (stuff I learned during the course). Also there's a slight steep incline in the lot so I practiced my uphill starts as well. Then it was the side roads until I was comfortable enough to hit the roads.
But what can I say? I'm addicted. It's all I think about now. Mind you i'm a car guy, but I don't think a car can ever be this exhilarating. I'm converted! It's really unfortunate that it's the end of the season but i'm going to try and get as much riding time before I really have to pack it in.
anyway here she is:
hope to see some of you guys on the road!
