Really? They scan for free? ALL THESE YEARS?!?!
WTF. There's one 10 minutes from my house.

Thanks dude.

They scan free hoping you'll buy parts from them.

I bought one a couple weeks ago from Princess Auto, $35. Don't know if it's still on sale or not. . . .

They scanned it for free, and even looked it up on the computer to give me a good idea on where to look.

Yes, the engine light came on after I washed the engine.

I'm sure the code is due to me spraying down everything without bothering to cover up the electronics (this is the $900 mazda I bought 2 weeks ago).

Anyway....

P0715 Input/Turbine Speed Sensor Circuit Malfunction

The sensor is located under the battery tray/air filter housing area.
It has not affected drivability in any way, but it does come back after clearing it (which I guess indicated somethings up).

year make and model?
i have access to all data online and can look it up for you right now.

You may have shorted out one of the electronics for the Turbo. Let me guess, the car is a Millenia?

All just a guess..

Some light Googling tells me that P0715 is transmission related (transmission input speed sensor). Tried finding a fiche online somewhere, no luck. If it were me I'd walk into a dealership and fight with the parts guys until I learned what I needed.

Yup.. Input/Turbine speed sensor is part of your transmission. The OP more then likely got some water into the connector and now it is reading outside of the normal range and is setting a code. You may want to find the connector and disconnect it, blow it out with some compressed air and refit.

The generic scanner at a parts store may not be able to clear that code. It may have to be cleared with an OEM tool. Some codes will self clear as soon as the problem is resolved and some will remain on until the vehicle is operated within a OEM set of parameters (warm up cycles, speed ranges...) If your not experiencing any issues while driving i'd say run with it for now. It might take a bit of time, but the light will reset over time provided that the original issue (moisture in a connector) has been remedied.
