Hey guys, I got my m1 recently. I'm kinda confused of what to do next. I read that I have to do a safety course, well it's optional, and then do a m1 exit test? Can someone please go into detail as to what the exit test consists of and will I need a bike before hand. Thanks!

Congrats!

Course is optional, but STRONGLY RECOMMENDED. They will provide the bike but you must bring the gear: helmet, jacket, gloves and boots, there are a few places that can rent you those for about $75 bucks for the duration of the course.

Centennial College, Humber College, RTI provide the courses ($470 - $500) and they test you for your M1 exit right there and then.

The course is done mostly on weekends, full two days, and at the end of it, provided you pass the test, you get a sealed envelope that you must bring to MTO after 60 days of getting your M1.

Alright guys thanks for your quick replies! Is there any courses like that "learning curves" in which the m1 exit is included. So basically, I go to that course, upon completion I do the exit test and get my m2. I'm location for locations close to richmond hill or somewhere around there. Any help would be great!

All MTO approved course centres provide the M1 exit test at the end of the course.

Check their websites and find the closest location to you.

O I see, I just looked at my yellow sheet they gave me when I passed my m1, and they charged me for "m1 exit test", so will I have to do it at that location?

Hmm its tricky... prolly one of the course instructors on the forum can help you better
Ill try to get one to come on the thread

normally they give you the option:
will you be taking the exit test with MTO or at an approved facility

If you choose facility, they wont charge you for it.

If you doing through Ministry, then you will need your own bike to do test. I would sign up rider's training, such as Humber college or Sheridan College. They provide you a bike and M2 test in the end.
